In most religions in India, goddesses (example- in Hindu mythology) have always been restricted to displaying 'virtues' (purity, charity, kindness, etc.) and do not display vices (anger, gluttony etc.) while male gods typically display 'vices' (Shiva and his anger, Ganesh and his gluttony etc.) and are in some instances celebrated for them. The only exception to this is Kali, who is much less celebrated than goddesses who are associated only with 'virtues' like Saraswati, Parvati etc.
